To evaluate the ability of a solid insulating material surface to withstand the combined effects of electric field and contaminating medium, a voltage is applied between platinum electrodes of a specified size (2mm x 5mm) and a specified drop volume of contaminated liquid (0.1% NH4 CL) is applied to the surface of the solid insulating material at a fixed height (35mm) for a fixed period of time (30s) to determine its comparative traceability index (CT1) and proof tarcking index (PT1).

The tracking index tester is suitable for research, production and quality inspection departments of lighting equipment, low-voltage electrical appliances, household appliances, machine tool electrical appliances, motors, power tools, electronic instruments, electrical instruments, and information technology equipment. It is also suitable for insulating materials and engineering Plastics, electrical connectors, accessories industry.
